Meet the  2016-2017 InterCorps Council

Written by: Ashley Strusz

While 2016 has come and gone, the InterCorps Council is looking forward to a brand new year. With a brand new InterCorps Council Executive Team and Council Members we are excited for a new year to begin! Members of the council represent AmeriCorps State & National and VISTA streams of service. Council members are coming from organizations such as Reading Corps, College Possible, Green Corps, and Emerge. Each member of the council is participating in one committee. The committees include communication, education and training, service, and a social networking committee. Each committee is working to serve those who serve.

Salutations from ICC Minnesota!

Welcome to the first Public Spirit publication from the 2016-17 ICC council! The council is excited and ready to get started for the year, but first we need your feedback! Please take some time to participate in our survey so that we can better survey (get it? serve-ay) all AmeriCorps members in Minnesota. Click this link to share your thoughts on how we can help and support you during your year of service.

Public Spirit, June 2016

So long, farewell!

Well, folks, we’ve reached the final Public Spirit of the InterCorps Council year. While we’re closing things down and crying on the inside (half-joking), we’d like to give one huge THANK YOU. You all have been incredible and we have loved our interactions, be it at ICC events, via social media, or by simply knowing you’re out there reading our monthly newsletter. THANK YOU for allowing us to be a part of your lives, and we look forward to resuming the council this Fall. Until next time!

You’re Nearing the Finish Line!

And as you approach the completion of your service year, the InterCorps Council is here to drop some knowledge regarding the exit process, Public Spirit style. This month’s edition had articles covering the job search process laid out in order from beginning your job search to the interview. Near the end you’ll find AmeriCorps resources regarding how to get the most out of your Ed Award and AmeriCorps alumni pages to connect with. If you already have your next step figured out, great! if you have no idea yet, don’t sweat it! We’re here to help you out, no matter what step in the job search process you’re currently on.

Public Spirit, April 2016

Is it Spring Yet?

It’s starting to feel like it, even if Mother Nature is having fun toying with our emotions. Sunshine and 60’s one day, overnight frost the next, rain for two days straight followed by another sunny day? Sounds like April in Minnesota! Wahoo! Luckily, Public Spirit is here to provide some consistency in your life by delivering yet another newsletter filled with articles centered around Earth Day, saving money, and our continual celebration of service. So grab a beach towel or heated blanket (depending on the day!) and dive right into your April edition of Public Spirit!

Public Spirit, March 2016

March = AmeriCorps Week!

It’s time to celebrate YOU! AmeriCorps Week begins this Saturday! As promised, the InterCorps Council of Minnesota will deliver a week filled with dodgeball dodging, canned food donating, trivia playinghomebuildingeducating, and most importantly CELEBRATING AmeriCorps members, alumni and community partners for contributing their talents and resources to make a difference.

For those of you who have signed up for an event already, bravo! Below you can refresh your memory on the details of the event(s) you signed up for. If you’ve procrastinated and want to join in on the fun, it’s not too late! There’s still room to sign up for several events.
